Renee Judkins
Maintenance and Support Director

When did you start working at WorldView Solutions?

Just what is it that you do here?

I am the Director of Maintenance and Support Services.

What recent project have you worked on where your key skills and specialties were utilized?

I am always utilizing my skills by leading a team to complete regularly scheduled maintenance deliveries and emergency tickets, when they arise, in a timely manner.  My team works closely together to make sure our clients are always satisfied with the services that WorldView provides.

Before working at WorldView, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I worked at JCPenney as a member of the Loss Prevention Team. It was my job to track loss at cash registers and catch the employees that were stealing as well as stopping shoplifters. There was rarely a boring shift.

How did you become involved in GIS?

It was a total accident. I started off at VCU in the Fine Arts program, concentrating in ceramics and glass. One semester before I was about to graduate, I tore a ligament in my left wrist. I wasn’t able to lift a blowpipe or throw on the wheel anymore. Luckily, I had a professor who saw my potential in Geography and I found a program that added only one more year to my time in college. I graduated from VCU with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Bachelors of Urban Studies and Geography. While in the Geography department, I had exposure to GIS and found that I really loved it! I was lucky enough to find employment directly out of school. That job gave me my foot in the door and then led me to WorldView.
