Travel Demand GIS Services VDOT Contract

Working with its partner, Corradino Group Inc, WorldView Solutions will provide the Virginia Department of Transportation with on-call Travel Demand GIS services. WorldView will assist the Corradino Group as a sub-consultant with assignments consisting of data collection and development, Metropolitan Travel Demand Modeling, Statewide Travel Demand Modeling services and training in specific travel demand modeling areas.

WorldView Awarded Mountain Empire Regional GIS (MERG) Project Contract

Washington County and its regional partners, the City of Bristol, and the counties of Lee, Russell, Scott and Smyth have contracted with WorldView Solutions to assist with the development of regional Geographic Information data replication system. The project includes a regional database, system architecture design, integration workflow, regional web mapping application, and user training. All services will be provided using ESRI’s ArcGIS 10 software platform.

WorldView will also be giving a presentation with the City of Lynchburg, Virginia, on the ways the City is using ArcGIS Server as a collaboration tool for City staff.

City of Waynesboro Launches Web Mapping Application

The City of Waynesboro has launched a web mapping application designed and hosted by WorldView Solutions. The application was profiled in the New Virginian, the City's local newspaper.

Phase II Begins for BMP Tracking Application

The Department of Conservation modernized its Agricultural Best Management Practices Application in 2009. The application developed and deployed by WorldView manages and distributes nearly $20M in funding each year to farmers in the Commonwealth that conduct best management practices on their farms. Their current system has over 300 system users working with nearly 10,000 farms each year, with historical data going back over ten year. DCR has contracted with WorldView on the second phase of development for the application which includes the completion of over 40 significant enhancements to core application functionality.

Fredericksburg, VA Awards WorldView Enterprise GIS Contract

WorldView Solutions has been contracted by the City of Fredericksburg to develop an enterprise GIS database for the City. WorldView will convert several data layers into an enterprise GIS database, including parcel related data, transit information , E911 data , crime mapping layers, and zoning data. Other project tasks include database design, map book development, user training, and the deployment of an internet mapping portal for both City staff and public users.

DEQ TMDL Federal Stimulus Project Award

In partnership with Virginia Interactive, WorldView Solutions will work wit hthe Virginia Department of Environmental Quality on the second phase of its TMDL project, funded with a stimulus grant from the EPA. The project will provide DEQ staff with an interface for editing TMDL related information and for making this data publicly available using the DEQ's existing web mapping tools.

New Kent County Intranet Application Development

New Kent County, Virginia, has contracted with WorldView on the developmen of an intranet web mapping tool built on ArcGIS Server. The toolset will provide County staff with a robust set of data viewing, querying, analysis and collaboration tools. Moreover, the County GIS office will be able to maintain all site functionality using off-the-shelf capabilities available in ArcMap and ArcCatalog.

Luck Stone Web Collaboration Portal Development

Luck Stone Corporation has contracted with WorldView on the development of a web mapping collaboration site that will allow staff to accurately meet regulatory requirements for calculating the amount of materials available at each of the company's quarries. Quarry managers will have access to aerial photographs and tools for calculating the measurement of all materials in each quarry. This markup data will be shared, in real time, with corporate managers and adjusted until a final set of measurements have been certified by the company.

City of Norton GIS Services Award

The City of Norton, Virginia, has awarded WorldView Solution a multi-year GIS services contract. As part of a Virginia PSAP grant, the City has also contracted with WorldView on the development of a fully remediated site address and road centerline dataset as well as a replication workflow for sharing data with Wise County, which surrounds the City. The City has also engaged WorldView in the development of a water meter database using sub-foot accuracy GPS data collection.
