Starting in July, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has begun rolling out its newest iteration of its public-facing performance reporting dashboard. The first section of Dashboard 4.0 is the Projects dial which tracks whether Project Development and Project Delivery efforts are on-time and on-budget.
To support Dashboard 4.0 and ensure accurate and up to date data, WorldView built VDOT an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process that makes data available to the VDOT Dashboard. The ETL job interfaces with data warehouses and uses cloud technology to make the data consumable by the public. The process runs nightly and has built-in logging and data archival to ensure system architects understand system health. The public can always count on data being accurate as of the last 24-hours.
You can learn more about VDOT’s new dashboard and what it means for localities in this webinar. Stay tuned for more updates coming this Fall!
